Wasted opportunities

Sometimes, opportunities come your way. And sometimes, they don’t. Occasionally, it’s actually about your perspective. Often, we have a set idea about how things should transpire and what people should do and say. That view of things can sometimes get in the way of actually seeing what is before you. Being open to really seeing what is before you, takes experience. It requires trial and error to hone that skill.   But what is sad is a wasted opportunity.   Opportunities that come your way but which you fail to see. Because you have a one track mind about something. Or are blinded. Opportunities that present themselves to you and which you feel are great. But you are busy, or racked with guilt or have too many things competing for your attention. And so the decision takes forever to make. One more day in which it’s put off or left to be reconsidered. And by the time you come back to it, it’s moot.   Which is worse – an opportunity you mucked up or one you failed to explore? I think you know that one.
