Push and pull elements

The push element
When you have projects that you, in HR or elsewhere, feel that you ought to be involved in – then put yourself out there. Push to get involved. Push to make yourself relevant and part of that team.
Push your agenda, get it heard and make it a priority.
The HR agenda will most times, need to be pushed ahead by HR, no one else. If you do not work on it, I guess no one else will.

The pull element
You’ve got to get the stakeholders and those interested, on your side. They have to see the vision and the goal, the way that you see it. If they don’t, help them to get to that stage. If you have them on your side, it makes the job easier for you. You have people helping you sell that vision and making it a reality.
