And on a more interesting note, how are CFOs today aligning their finance function and the skills of their people to the strategic priorities of the organisation?
A debate about where finance and HR intersect is well worth having. Greater awareness of each other’s role and their expectations of how they need to work together will ensure that both finance and HR can take an organisation to greater heights. HR wants to create value and oftentimes, is genuinely working on doing just that. However, the degree to which they succeed is largely affected by perception. How the organisation, different business units and employees themselves perceive these services carries weight. That said, HR’s ability to educate themselves on how finance, for example, is making an impact, will enable HR to achieve success in their endeavours.
