Self mastery and influence

Self awareness. Self reliance. Self mastery.
I believe these are key to leading people.

Know yourself first before you make assessments about who others are.
Rely on yourself before you rely on others to get things done. Acceptance of a higher degree of personal responsibility and acknowledgement that all roads begin with you is a good place to start.
Mastering oneself emotionally, logically, physically and spiritually, I believe, is key to making progress in yourself, your relationships and your work.

We have to first strengthen our mastery over our own self.
If we are not able to control our self, we cannot hope to influence others.
