How I Respect Your Time. Tip #6. Adjust

We all want to be heard. We want to be heard in the way we feel best fits us, best does justice to us.

But sadly, that is not to be. People don’t want to endure your history, your explanations. They want to get to the bottom on it, fast and furious.

So if you want to respect their time, the best way to do so is to listen to them. Make the adjustment accordingly. Do not bulldoze ahead when it’s not wanted. Rephrase what you need to say, if it’s not working.

Or …

Just plain stop if it’s going nowhere.

This is part of a series of 20 posts on How I Ensure I Respect Your Time.
